Kia Ora, I'm Kade, I’m the proud owner and operator of KPC Detailing. A mobile car detailing business based in Whangārei, Northland.

 I grew up in a petrolhead family, cars were our life, at 13 years old i took over the responsibility of cleaning my parents vehicles. I found great satisfaction in maintaining their cars, my OCD came in handy to set a high standard when cleaning and maintaining the vehicles.

 

As i grew older, and gained more knowledge, i became hungry for better results, striving to produce top tier workmanship. If i wasn't physically cleaning cars, I was spending my spare time watching professional detailers on YouTube and TikTok. I was taking note of all their tips and tricks, gaining knowledge on the most efficient and effective detailing process’s, products and equipment they used and putting those skills into practice. 

 

 

One day in the school holidays my parents were having a new kitchen installed,  i was busy detailing my mums Ford Raptor, the contractors were going back and forth to their van to grab supplies, one of them stopped to comment on my workmanship, and asked if he could book his vehicle in, this was my first paying customer that wasn't friends or family. I still remember the buzz i felt  the day he dropped his vehicle off to me.

 

This customer became a regular customer booking in every 6 weeks. It didn't take long for people to notice how clean his vehicle was, asking who did it, so he passed on my details around, a local Whangarei business reached out, my mum would drop me there every Saturday to clean their fleet of vehicles. 5 years later  i still contract to them every week detailing their entire fleet of vehicles.

 

I started to notice a clear gap in the market. People do want their cars to look pristine but don’t have the time, tools, or knowledge to do it themselves.  My detailing business grew and evolved and so did i. 

 

Family & Friends recognised my talent for detailing and encouraged me to start running a vehicle detailing business as a side hustle! 

So I did exactly that, earning myself pocket money detailing cars on the weekends and school holidays.  I started investing my earnings into better products, tools and equipment to evolve as a detailer. I use all commercial grade products and commercial equipment. 

my weekends and school holidays soon got booked up. I remember talking to the gateway staff member at school asking her how she could help me with my business for when i leave school, or a type of work experience i could possibly do. They were no help. I finished school, i studied full time business management through North Tech, as well as detailing my regular customers. Once i completed my course i changed my business to a mobile service. During this time i also completed a course through the Kings Trust. This was a turning point in my detailing career, that i will always be grateful for. 

it's now been 6 years of detailing vehicles, and 4 years of doing it full time. I contract to quite a few local Whangarei businesses.

I pride myself on building long- term relationships with my customers. Because of my strong work ethic, communication skills and passion for the work i do, i've been able to maintain long-term relationships with all my clients, the majority of my customers sign up to a regular  6 week maintenance detailing service.
